Close your eyes, get yourself cosy, the story is beginning…

Once upon a time, there were 4 Reception classes and they were learning about the Three Little Pigs. Each class loved listening to the story and finding out what the 3 pigs used to build their houses. Then along came the Big Bad Wolf, who said, ‘little pig, little pig, let me in or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in!’…

This week the children have absolutely loved retelling this traditional tale. They have been repeating the well-known phrases and using expression to change their voice and make them sound like the character.

The children have been exploring making their own houses of straw, sticks and bricks and have acted out being the different characters. They even took the tales to the role play area, where they begin using the different props to act out and develop their own traditional tales. It has been amazing to see how much language they have used in just 1 week!
