More about Flo

As a puppy, Flo used to visit older people in a care home and was taught to roll over for a belly rub rather than jump up. When she started going to school, she continued this cute habit and now rolls over for the children to give her a belly rub too! Something the children love!

We are so excited to have Flo in our school. On the last Friday of the month, Flo will spend the day with us. She will spend most of her time being a reading dog, as it can be quite daunting reading to an adult, whereas a dog just listens. We hope to grow confidence around reading, spread the love of books and share the joy a little dog brings at the same time. She will also support any children who will benefit from the advantages of having a dog around. The children will be learning about dogs in assembly, so that they know how to behave appropriately around Flo and how to approach her. We look forward to the great benefits having a school dog brings!
